Job Description
Job Summary
· Road service technician servicing gas, steam, electric and electronic commercial food service equipment at customer locations.
· Servicing any equipment used in the preparation of food in commercial establishments such as ranges, dishwashers, steamers, microwave ovens, fryers, conveyor ovens, coffee makers, and toasters.
· Service is performed in any commercial kitchen such as those found in schools, restaurants, colleges, and nursing homes.
Job Qualifications
· Must work well with various hand tools.
· Have basic understanding of electrical concepts, basic trouble shooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
· Excellent communication skills conveying confidence and understanding to our customers of the service we provide.
General Accountabilities
· Talk to customers or refer to work orders in order to establish the nature of appliance malfunctions.
· Observe equipment in operation and perform adequate troubleshooting measures through but not limited to various test equipment such as VOM, amp probe, pyrometer or manometer, etc.
· Refer to schematic drawings, product manuals, and troubleshooting guides in order to diagnose and repair problems.
· Replace worn and defective parts such as switches, circuit boards, thermostats, gas valves, burners or defective wiring.
· Reassemble units after repairs are made, making adjustments and cleaning and lubricating parts as needed.
· Record maintenance and repair work performed on equipment.
· Maintain stocks of parts used in on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of appliances.
· Observe and test operation of appliances following installation, and make any initial installation adjustments that are necessary.
· Instruct customers regarding operation and care of appliances, and provide information such as emergency service numbers.
· Handle invoicing of COD customers.
· On call approximately every 5th or 6th weekend.

Tools
· Technicians must have their own general hand tools including but not limited to screw drivers, socket sets, wrenches, and hammers.

Salary
· Service Tech Trainee beginning salary $18-$25
· Experienced Tech salary $25-$35
