SURVEY CREW CHIEF

Job Description

Sands Decker, a civil engineering and land surveying firm, is seeking an experienced SURVEY CREW CHIEF to work in our Columbus office. We're an innovative and technology driven company and our Survey Department has an immediate opening for an individual who can think and work independently. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years experience as a crew chief possessing field management skills associated with Boundary, Topographic and ALTA surveys, along with Construction and Utility Surveys, Horizontal and Vertical Control Surveys, and Roadway Surveys. Must be detail oriented, able to think and work independently. Must be proficient with a Robotic Total Station, GPS equipment, data collection techniques, including point code and linework capability; must be able to read construction plans, and provide accurate survey information. AutoCAD and Carlson Survey experience are an added plus. 3D laser scanning experience is a plus.

Skills and other necessary requirements:

· Must hold a current valid driver's license

· Understands the need to complete work within deadlines

· Must be accountable and dependable

· Have the ability to work with both office and field personnel (outside contractors/clients)

· Must be detail oriented and have the ability to enter data accurately

· Must have good communication skills
