TrinityRail is searching for an experienced Operations Superintendent, 2nd Shift for our Jonesboro, AR location to direct production operations and support the 2nd shift team. In this role you will play a pivotal figure within our plant leadership team and the success of this role directly influences the profitability of our plant. Working hours can shift from day to evening and you will play an integral part in determining the best schedule for this critical role.

What you'll need:

Establish functional business plans and technical project objectives to meet plant goals

Embrace a collaborative culture, commitment to excellence, and maintains a strong focus on continuous improvement

Demonstrate servant leadership by contributing to long-term operational plan, overcoming operational obstacles, managing production, and improving employee performance to ensure that the plant’s safety, quality, and production goals are achieved

Support the training and onboarding of new team members

Effectively schedule and delegate work assignments according to schedule

Proactively address operational challenges

Manage production and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and production output

Collaboration with all value Stream team members

Provide a safe and secure workplace for plant employees

Develop production plan and guidelines to support company objectives

Take responsibility for the daily operations and people management

Train and develop front-line Supervisors and Lead personnel

Exercise independent judgement

Collaborate with team supervisors and plant leadership to achieve and exceed Trinity KPIs

Implement and champion process improvements to meet quality and production standards while reducing cost

Recommend and implement workflow improvements to ensure efficient operations

Address issues related to plant production

Serve as a member of the Site Leadership Team with responsibility to deliver financial performance, strategic and tactical business objectives, and the positive work culture of the site

What you'll do:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

3+ years related experience as a supervisor or manager in an industrial setting

Experience in mechanical, cleaning, welding and painting operations in an industrial setting required

Strong understanding of KPI’s and calculation of metrics

Strong interpersonal skills

Capability to plan work procedures, equipment, material, and human resource needs

Ability to effectively build and lead a productive work group as well as to perform as a member of the management team

Experience and proficiency using MS Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint is required

Railcar experience is an added plus
