The Global Quality Director is responsible for defining and implementing OTR’s global quality management strategy, policies, and programs. The role is also responsible for defining and executing the company’s global Quality Management System. This role demands a visionary leader with a proven track record in quality management, continuous improvement, risk mitigation, and fostering a culture of quality and excellence.

Quality Strategy and Planning:

Develop, implement, and manage the global quality strategy, policies, and programs to ensure alignment with global quality standards and customer expectations.

Establish short-term and long-term quality goals, objectives, and initiatives to drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction throughout the organization.

Develop, implement, and manage the global QMS, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

Oversee compliance with international quality standards, regulations, and certifications, ensuring that all products and services meet or exceed industry requirements.

Conduct audits and assessments to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory compliance.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

Identify and assess potential quality risks across global operations, supply chain, and product development.

Develop and implement risk mitigation plans and recommend process improvements to enhance product quality and reliability, reducing the potential for customer zero miles and warranty complaints.

Performance Metrics and Reporting:

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of quality programs and initiatives.

Define and monitor key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the QMS and track quality performance.

Produce regular reports for senior management and relevant stakeholders on quality performance and improvements.

Supplier and Vendor Quality Management:

Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure suppliers and vendors meet our quality standards and specifications.

Implement supplier quality assessment and continuous improvement programs.

Customer Feedback and Satisfaction:

Establish mechanisms to collect and analyze customer feedback to identify areas for quality improvement.

Implement processes for responding to and addressing customer complaints and concerns.

Quality Training and Education:

Develop and deliver quality training programs for employees, suppliers, and partners.

Foster a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and excellence throughout the organization.

Budget and Resource Management:

Manage the quality budget effectively, allocating resources to meet program objectives.

Supervise and lead a global quality team, ensuring they have the necessary tools and support to fulfill their roles.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position will oversee personnel employed in the Quality department and will serve as a coach/mentor for facility managers and their staff across all regions. The role will oversee directly and indirectly quality leaders across several regions.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. At times, employee might be exposed to manufacturing environment, including forklift traffic, fumes, noise, and operating manufacturing equipment.

Physical Demands:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM. In order to meet our customer demands and internal objectives, at times this role will be required to work outside of the normal schedule, including weekends.

Travel:

Travel is expected for this function. Travel will be nationally and internationally due to audits, visits, training initiatives, launching of projects, or other items related to QA /QMS initiatives.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Business Administration or comparable field of study.

Minimum 10 years of experience in QA/QC/QMS Leadership, with a proven track record of global program management.

Excellent knowledge of global QA/QC/QMS regulations and standards, including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, and Quality core tools

Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Demonstrated experience and expertise in implementing and maintaining quality management systems.

In-depth knowledge of applicable Quality Standards (ISO, IATF) along with legal and regulatory requirements, and experience exceeding compliance standards.

Strong problem-solving and project management skills.

Knowledge of manufacturing operations.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Masters Degree in related field.

Certified Quality Manager (CQM)

Certified Six Sigma Black Belt

Project Management experience.
