Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a SQL Server Database Administrator who will be responsible for managing our existing databases, identifying areas for improvement, and developing innovative solutions to enhance our systems.
What You’ll Do
Perform and support legacy Data Conversion application, SQL job (Stored procedures) driven business reports
Leverage emerging technologies to ensure products are continuously positioned to maximize business value
Manage existing databases, identify areas of improvement, and develop solutions
Collaborate with software development teams working with high availability mission critical SQL server systems
Perform DB code deployments/maintenance after hours and/or on weekends
Complete design reviews and code reviews for development teams
Monitor database performance statistics and recommend improvements
Effectively multitask between several different projects
What You’ll Need to Succeed
We’re looking for someone who:
Can work remotely
Your experience should include some or all the following:
4 years of SQL Server production Database Administrator experience across the following areas Patching, Replication, Availability Groups, CDC, Index defragmentation, DB maintenance, SQL code tunning, Data conversion/Migration
Experience supporting Development, Test and Production databases systems which are online and accessed 24/7
Knowledge of SQL, data modeling and database performance tuning
Experience Troubleshooting in collaboration with development teams when client applications fail
Knowledge of relational, and semi structured data
SQL Server 2017 or higher
Understand / troubleshoot PowerShell with SQL server.
Experience with databases used by reporting teams
Understanding of modern information security design and best practices
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and/or equivalent experience
