Seeking a Sr Desktop Engineer (Lead) for a Hedge Fund client who will be responsible for 3rd level Desktop issues and Project Engineering initiatives.

5 days a week onsite.

115k -125k plus 30% bonus

You will work closely along side various internal groups to implement applications, technologies, workflows, processes, and procedures to maintain a secure, stable, efficient, and controlled desktop environment.

Will provide support and guidance as a desktop and mobile subject matter expert including operating systems, applications, hardware, and best practices

People who thrive in this role have substantial experience supporting a fast paced, trading environment with a calm demeanor and sense of urgency.

Successful candidates will have background implementing Group Policy Objects and Active Directory changes in addition to maintaining and monitoring the VMware and virtual desktop environment.

Responsibilities:

Provide desktop and mobile device support firm wide as the initial point of contact

Support Trading Platforms (ex; Reuters, Bloomberg terminals)

Support high level support issues for the VDI environment.

Provide 3rd level investigation and resolution of desktop incidents, problems and support.

Take ownership of issues and the delivery of a resolution.

Utilize ticketing system for technical assistance requests, steps taken to resolve them

Create online documentation regarding application issues and troubleshooting

Stay abreast with industry changes, research new methods for enhancing processes, performance, reliability, optimization and overall user experience.

Provide support, expert advice and guidance within desktop field of expertise including Operating Systems, applications, hardware, best practices, etc.

Operational support for day to day activities that comprise of client health checks, troubleshooting, reporting,, etc.

Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in Desktop Engineer support role in a financial organization

Prior experience supporting a trading environment

Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with a focus on Microsoft Excel and Outlook, O365

Prior experience providing White Glove support

Support Trading Platforms (i.e. Bloomberg terminals)

Experience with Co-Management and workloads

Experience in high level support issues in a VDI environment

Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure in a fast paced environment.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule according to business requirements.

Ability to organize and prioritize workflow to meet established timeframes.

Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
