Description:
Our client headquartered in Virginia is seeking a Contracts Manager based in Huntsville, AL. The position reports to the Director of Contracts and offers a hybrid workplace. The Contracts Manager will manage and execute proposals, contracts and sub-contracts.
The ideal candidate has a high degree of procurement and negotiation expertise with a strong knowledge of FAR/DFAR. Possesses excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and can work autonomously, exercise discretion and utilize independent judgment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Manage proposal response and performance execution of all contract and sub-contract terms and conditions
Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, manage deadlines, identify priorities, communicate status at all levels, develop and brief positions
Maintain an in-depth knowledge and working understanding of the DoD acquisition and procurement environment, FAR/DFAR, export and other government regulations
Proficient with relevant company policies and procedures, including commercial contracting methods and internal contract functions
Lead or support fact-finding and other audit activities
Serve as primary point of contact for all contracts assigned between the company and customer, as well as sub-contracts assigned between the company and supplier
Develop solutions to complex contracting issues, using ingenuity and innovation
Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills/Requirements:
Experience with various contract types including firm fixed price, cost type, time and material contracts, and international FMS/DCS
Proficient in drafting and negotiating complex teaming arrangements or other types of contracting arrangements
Defense Systems (equipment) related acquisition program experience
Experience in dealing with defense contractors or Service program offices with regards to MDAP/ACAT programs
Exhibit strong interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers
Familiarity with generating electronic reports and documents, and analyze data as required
Qualifications:
10+ Years of experience in Procurement, with 5+ years of Contracting experience or equivalent with the DoD and/or DoD Contractor
Bachelor’s degree from accredited four-year College or University in Business, Procurement or related field preferred (MBA a plus)
Must be US Citizen and have active US Secret Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain
