We are currently seeking an Early Career to Mid Level Environmental Engineer/ Scientist/ Geologist on a direct hire basis within our client’s environmental engineering and science consulting firm. The ideal candidate will support projects in the fields of hydrogeology, water resources, surface hydraulics and hydrology, and geotechnical engineering. The candidate will perform technical analyses with guidance by a supervisor. Other tasks include data collection, compilation, visualization, and analysis, computer modeling, field activities, oral or written presentations to the supervisor, project team, and clients. In addition, candidates will participate in proposal development, project management, and business development activities.
Job Requirements:
Perform fieldwork to support environmental investigation, evaluation, and remediation projects, including the collection of groundwater, soil, soil vapor, stormwater, and surface water samples
Assist Project Technical Leaders in the preparation of high-quality technical presentations, reports, letters, plans, and proposals
Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and analytical laboratories and independently perform subcontractor oversight
Support the design of assessment programs and remedial options for site cleanup, as well as environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance, and permitting activities
Assist in the management, analysis, and interpretation of environmental data using statistical and data visualization tools
Independently perform research tasks with input from technical experts
Contribute to a team atmosphere through collaboration with technical experts, project managers, colleagues, and subcontractors
Qualifications:
Advanced degree with background in groundwater/hydrogeology, environmental engineering, surface water hydraulics, hydrology and/or geotechnical fields
Early career 0 to 2 years of experience / Mid-career 3 to 5 years of experience
Excellent data analysis and computer modeling skills
Proficiency in programming in at least one language, such as MATLAB, R, and/or Python
Knowledge of statistical and probabilistic analysis
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills
Collaborative mindset Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently and as part of a team
Engineer in Training (EIT) or Geologist in Training (GIT) certification
40-hour OSHA HAZWWOPER certification a plus
Valid drivers license and clear driving record
Ability to travel
Flexibility to work outside normal office work hours, if needed
