Under direct supervision, a Software Developer I plans, documents, develops, and tests computer software by applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems.
The salary range for this position is 65,000 to 86,000. Most offers for this will be between 70,000 to 77,000.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Perform software and data analysis to identify issues and problem solve accordingly.
Participate in various meetings to identify software requirements and project details.
Conduct demonstrations to educate and train others in the use of software.
Debug and correct software defects.
Develop new or modify existing software.
Create or update project documentation and report project time appropriately.
Provide project updates as needed.
Test software to validate accuracy of code and participate in code review sessions.
All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
1-2 years of software development experience in a classroom setting or related job function (internships considered towards experience)
Entry level knowledge of programming, database systems, and systems analysis and design
Ability to write technical documentation
Strong problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability and willingness to collaborate and share knowledge across the team
Must be able to learn independently but also work well in a team environment
Flexible scheduling availability including nights and weekends
Desired:
Prior internship experience in IT or software development
Familiarity with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js)
Exposure to project management tools or methodologies (e.g., Jira, Planview, Agile)
