We are seeking skilled Transmission Engineers with experience in substation projects to join our client's team on a 12-24 months assignment in Richmond, VA.

Job Description: As a Transmission Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, coordination, and management of transmission line projects, focusing on substation integration and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Engineer and coordinate transmission line activities, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and project specifications.

Provide technical guidance and approval for the work of engineers involved in transmission projects.

Prepare project scopes, estimates, and budgets for transmission projects.

Support permitting, construction, field operations, and maintenance groups throughout project lifecycles.

Offer technical expertise and address inquiries regarding underground transmission lines from civic groups, government agencies, and media representatives.

Participate in project informational meetings, public workshops, and prepare State Corporation Commission CPCN applications.

Design and analyze transmission systems, including substation layouts and integration.

Develop engineering specifications and standards for transmission line projects.

Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful execution of transmission projects within scope, budget, and timeline.

Manage vendor relationships and oversee quality control processes related to transmission equipment and materials.

Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for transmission system upgrades and expansions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in transmission engineering, with a focus on substation design and integration.

Strong proficiency in engineering software/tools for transmission system analysis and design.

Excellent communication skills and ability to convey technical information effectively.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards in transmission system design and substation integration.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.

Experience working in the energy or utility industry.
