Position: Postdoctoral Fellow in Generative AI for Viral Fate Decisions

Location: Chaturvedi Lab, University of California, Riverside

Duration: Fixed-term (3 years with the possibility of extension)

Chaturvedi Lab is a leading research group focused on the intersection of virology and computational biology. We are dedicated to unraveling the complex mechanisms that influence viral fate decisions, using cutting-edge technologies and innovative methodologies.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team. The successful candidate will utilize generative artificial intelligence models to simulate and predict viral behaviors and outcomes. This role is crucial in advancing our understanding of viral pathogenesis and in developing novel therapeutic strategies.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement generative AI models to predict viral fate decisions within infected host cells.

Collaborate with virologists and data scientists to integrate biological insights with computational predictions.

Analyze and interpret complex datasets involving high-throughput sequencing, proteomics, and cellular imaging.

Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences.

Contribute to grant writing and research proposals.

Mentor graduate students and junior researchers in computational techniques.

Qualifications:

PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Strong background in machine learning, particularly in generative models like GANs, VAEs, or similar architectures.

Experience in handling large datasets and proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or Julia.

Prior exposure to virology or infectious disease modeling is highly desirable.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
