Job Details
As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the tax department and all accountants. You will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with tax regulations, and efficient operations within the accounting department. This position requires strong leadership, technical accounting skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and supervise the tax department and all accountants
Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including income tax, sales tax, and other relevant taxes
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the accounting department
Implement best practices to streamline accounting processes and procedures
Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
Analyze variances, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement
Coordinate and manage internal and external audits
Ensure audit readiness and timely completion of audit requests
Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process
Provide financial insights to support budget development and monitoring
Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, legal, and operations, to support company-wide initiatives
You should have most of the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Several years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience in a public accounting firm
Strong understanding of US GAAP and tax regulations
Experience with tax compliance and preparation
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
