The ideal candidate for the position of Superintendent will be passionate about construction and desires to develop their career in a rapidly growing company. Your primary responsibility will be on site project supervision to include subcontractor scheduling, quality control, site logistics and safety.
Responsibilities
Project specific:
· Work with senior superintendent on project implementation and setup requiring interfacing with architect and engineer
· Interface with senior superintendent and project manager on the day to day constructions activities of each assigned project
· Oversee subcontractor work, schedule material delivery with vendors, and coordinate with inspectors and the local government to promote a coordinated operation
· Identify and predict project related conflicts and work with senior superintendent, project manager, sub contractors, vendors and inspectors to resolve them
· Manage and make decisions related to the performance of work related to quality control, subcontractors staffing, scheduling and material delivery
· Ensure all necessary permits and insurance are in place and kept current for the term of the project. Act as liaison to inspection agencies.
· Submit daily job site reports in construction software to project manager
Company Specific:
· Work with management, senior superintendent and project manager to continuously modify company processes to improve quality and optimize efficiency
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree (preferred)
· Minimum of 4 years of building construction experience required (6 years preferred) with 3 of those years as a superintendent
· Thorough knowledge in all aspects of building systems with an emphasis on civil and structural work
Complete understanding and proficiency in:
· General and subcontractor documents
· All types of drawings and specifications
· Constructions means, methods and materials
· Understanding of line and grade and survey methods
· Knowledge of building codes and compliance
· Experience with scheduling and project management software
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and electronically
· Keen eye on detail
· Ability to direct multiple crews on site
