Senior Software Engineer – Microsoft Dynamics 365

Individual Markets Business Technology Services at Guardian is seeking a Senior Software Engineer who will be responsible for maintaining Microsoft D365 F&O platform for our Agency Accounting.

This position will play a key role in delivering integrated solutions and services that meet business initiatives, accounting activities, process improvements, and strategic objectives, by translating business requirements into technical system requirements for development by third party vendor.

This role will serve as a point of contact for production support, D365 configurations, and troubleshooting which will require strong problem-solving skills, managing root cause analysis and issue resolution.

You Will:

You will be responsible for serving as an intermediary between Guardian and our Agency Accounting Third-Party Vendor.

You will manage the D365 F&O Sandbox & Production environments as pure SaaS platform and facilitate all development work through a Third-Party Vendor.

You will work with business owners to analyze, define, and translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories. Requirements could include but not limited to:

Data Mapping

Data configuration

UI/Business configurations (Screen/Workflows)

Product mapping/configurations

Business & System rules

You will partner with technical teams on projects to design and implement workflows, reports, customizations, extensions, integrations, and data conversions with D365 Finance.

Participating and documenting design sessions with clients to ensure business process requirements translate into technical requirements, including user stories, use cases, design specifications, business process, data flows and acceptance criteria.

Perform D365 administrative tasks and set up (configurations) for users, security, email, licenses, batches, and active directory.

Provide in-depth and sophisticated analyses with interpretive thinking to define problems, develop innovative solutions and influence strategic functional decisions

You will identify project tasks required to support a successful implementation, including performing impact analysis, verbally communicating complex issues, validating production readiness, and communicating implementation statuses.

Provide technical support with incident response, problem resolution, disaster recovery and continuity of operations events.

Provide guidance to project team members on technical aspects of D365 Finance.

You will provide leadership in technical problem solving by applying insight derived from a highly developed skill and knowledge base and coordinate impacts and dependencies across application teams.

You will perform Unit testing as needed

You will proactively find opportunities for technology to improve business processes

You Have:

Bachelor's Degree in - Computer Science, Information technology, Management Information Systems, Finance, or equivalent experience.

5+ years of experience in the Microsoft eco-system with a combination of 2-4 D365 F&O or AX 2012 R2, R3 full lifecycle implementations in Finance, preferred

Experience with the following modules - Accounts payable, General ledger, Cash and bank management, Accounts receivable, Organization administration, System administration, Data import export framework, recommended

2+ years of experience in Life insurance industry preferably in Accounting space.

In-depth knowledge of software development lifecycles including Agile development and testing.

Experience with AOT development workspace.

SQL Server knowledge to perform queries.

Knowledge of MS Life Cycle Services (LCS) and Dynamics F&O release management protocols and procedures, preferred.

Understanding of Microsoft best practices for environment configuration and code implementation.

Understands software development lifecycle methodology (SDLC)

Experience with SAFe Agile, Scrum, Kanban methodology

Must be able to think strategically and evaluate short-, medium-, and long-term options

Excellent written and verbal communications, including presentation creation and delivery, organization, analytical, planning skills.

Excellent team collaboration skills, with the ability to build consensus, influencing across all levels in the organization, to include experience in dealing with multiple projects impacting different processes within the Individual Markets ‘arena’, multi-functional teams, and ability to coordinate across teams in a large matrix organization environment.

Experience with Management reporter, a 3rd Party reporting tool is an added advantage

Solid understanding of MS project, MS Office Suite, and Visio is a plus

Ability to travel up to 10%

Location & Travel:

Hybrid Remote - 2 Days a week at a Guardian location in Holmdel, NJ, Bethlehem, PA or New York, New York.

Salary Range$76,050.00 - $124,935.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
