Who are we looking for?

At our Madison, AL plant we proudly manufacture pipe and fittings for Fire Suppression Systems that are trusted and installed in buildings worldwide. We employ a diverse group of people, working together to achieve high standards in quality and safety.

We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to contribute to our goals by writing programs for assigned CNC machines that include proper methodology, tooling, cutting speeds and feeds, and generating quality parts in accordance with product specifications. They will perform as an integral member of the team by interpreting drawings and/or solid part models; determining dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and set-up requirements to maximize efficiency; creating set-up sheets based on tooling selection criteria; monitoring and verifying the accuracy of each job’s initial set-up and final outcome; and revising programs and documents based on engineering changes in addition to other routine tasks within the department.

Our ideal candidate possesses a “can-do” outlook, enjoys problem-solving and learning, helping others in a team environment, and working on a variety of tasks. They should possess the following qualifications:

Required:

High school diploma or GED supplemented by 3+ years’ experience programming and operating manual or CNC machines in a mid to heavy manufacturing environment

Experience in the application of precision measuring equipment including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators

Ability to accurately read drawings and specifications with an understanding of geometric tolerances and dimensions

Detailed knowledge of programming segments and corresponding operations

Working knowledge of various tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars and inserts used on various machines

Ability to use various mathematical skills to calculate material fabrication, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra

Ability to set priorities and efficiently advance projects to achieve customer and quality objectives

Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow through with assignments with minimal supervision

Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships

Ability to learn and adapt to changing technology

Adherence to safety and quality standards, and dedication to reporting and correcting all issues

Dedication to maintaining a respectful workplace environment

Skilled in programming and operating Mazak Lathes
