AV Installation Technician Level 1

Job Description

The Installation Technician Level 1 is expected to perform installation tasks including but, not limited to: pulling cable, installing connectors mounting displays/projectors, and installing projection screens. This position will also be responsible for ensuring company and industry standards for Installation and Quality Control meet expectations. The Installation Technician will also be responsible for completion of assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner. This position must possess the ability to interact with Customers and End Users in a professional and courteous manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Perform installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: pulling and dressing cable, terminating connectors, and mounting displays/projectors.

· Read and understand wiring schematics and architectural blueprints

· Solder, crimp, and terminate various connectors and assist with basic rack wiring

· Assist with basic field fabrication

· Assist with Projector and screen structure fabrication/installation

· Test point to point connections and verify system functionality

· Travel to various job sites required

· Must be dependable and punctual

· Must have own Hand Tools

· Must be able to pass background check

· Must have a valid Driver’s License

· Must have dependable Transportation

Skills and Abilities

· Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and proper manner

· Ability to work and think independently

· Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

· Basic computer knowledge

· Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control

· Effectively communicate with customers and co-workers in a Professional and Courteous

Education and Experience

· Minimum of 1 year of audiovisual, low voltage, or electrical installation experience preferred.

· Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

· Must be willing to obtain AVIXA CTS Certification

Physical Requirements

· The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds, be able to climb ladders up to 20 feet tall and be able to work in small spaces or closets. The employee is frequently required to stand, climb or balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
