Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Drives truck with capacity of more than 20,000lbs gross weight, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Drives truck to destination using the most expedient route.

Maintains truck Haz-Mat documentation according to state and federal regulations.

Delivers shipments to respective locations.

Loads and unloads truck.

Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water daily.

Ensures product is shrink wrapped or tied down prior to loading in delivery vehicle.

Ensures cargo being shipped is secure in the delivery vehicle.

Obtains the appropriate signatures on all receipts and delivery tickets.

Helps to load delivery vehicles transporting cargo from the assembly area and placing in the appropriate vehicle.

Cleans and maintains assigned vehicle.

Possesses the ability to get along with other employees, to follow directions and to work under stress.

Follows Company safety rules and regulations including the use of appropriate safety equipment.

Non-driving duties are included in performance expectations (i.e., shipping/receiving, etc.). Training will be provided.

Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Minimum one year experience driving a 20,000lb truck or larger.

Current CDL license.

Current DOT medical card.

Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record required.

Be functionally literate and capable of understanding and recognizing part numbers and line codes to ensure proper selection and delivery of parts, including identifying sequences of numbers and letters accurately and rapidly.

Have a well-groomed, neat appearance.

Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills in a professional manner.

Enjoy working with people in a fast-paced setting; be competitive yet work calmly under pressure.

Personal qualities of flexibility, integrity, and confidentiality.

Acts in a professional manner by approaching others in a tactful manner; reacting well under pressure; treating others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; accepting responsibility for own actions, following through on commitments.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

Wear the proper personal protective equipment for each task, including, but not limited to, safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, hard hat, dust mask, etc.

Regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds.

Ability to reach with hands and arms and use hands to finger, or handle objects, tools, and controls.

Ability to stand, walk and climb stairs regularly.

Ability to bend, twist, squat, stoop, kneel or crouch frequently.

Ability to talk and/or hear frequently.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors regularly in all elements.
