Position Overview: The HR Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources management, with a focus on union relations and global HR strategies. They will play a key role in developing and implementing HR policies and initiatives that align with the organization's goals and values. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing union relationships, navigating collective bargaining agreements, and implementing strategies to foster positive labor relations. Additionally, they should have a strong background in global HR practices, including talent acquisition, performance management, and employee development across diverse cultural contexts.

Responsibilities:

1. Union Relations:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for union representatives and negotiate collective bargaining agreements.

• Develop and implement strategies to maintain positive labor relations and resolve disputes effectively.

• Ensure compliance with union contracts and labor laws, providing guidance to management on interpretation and application.

2. Global HR Strategy:

• Develop and implement global HR policies and procedures that support the organization's strategic objectives.

• Collaborate with regional HR teams to ensure consistent implementation of HR initiatives and compliance with local regulations.

3. Payroll Management:

• Assist with overseeing all aspects of payroll processing, including data entry, payroll calculations, and payroll tax compliance.

• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing while adhering to internal policies and legal requirements.

• Assist with resolving payroll discrepancies and answering employee inquiries regarding pay issues.

4. Benefits Administration:

• Assisting with Administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits.

• Coordinate with benefit providers to ensure timely enrollment, changes, and terminations.

• Assist with Communication regarding benefit options and changes to employees and facilitate open enrollment sessions.

5. Compliance and Reporting:

• Stay abreast of federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations and ensure compliance.

• Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, including quarterly and annual reports.

• Assist when needed - Generating payroll and benefits reports for internal and external stakeholders as needed.

6. Vendor Management:

• Assist Manage relationships with payroll and benefits vendors, including negotiating contracts and resolving service issues.

• Collaborate with vendors to implement new systems or processes that improve efficiency and accuracy.

7. Talent Acquisition and Retention:

• Assisting with overseeing recruitment efforts to attract top talent, both domestically and internationally.

• Develop retention strategies to foster employee engagement and reduce turnover rates.

• Implement succession planning initiatives to identify and develop future leaders within the organization.

8. Performance Management:

• Lead the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback mechanisms.

• Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance issues and disciplinary actions when necessary.

• Implement strategies to recognize and reward high-performing employees.

9. Employee Development:

• Design and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and competencies, with a focus on leadership development and cultural competence.

• Facilitate career development opportunities, including mentorship programs and career planning initiatives.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of employee development programs and make recommendations for improvement.

10. HR Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations, both domestically and internationally.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices and industry trends to inform decision-making.

• Conduct audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and mitigate legal risks.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

• 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on union relations and global HR management.

• Experience negotiating collective bargaining agreements and resolving labor disputes.

• Strong understanding of global HR practices, including talent acquisition, performance management, and employee development.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience leading and developing high-performing teams.

• Proven ability to navigate complex organizational structures and influence decision-making at all levels.

• SHRM certification or equivalent preferred.
