We currently operate six high-tech greenhouse farms, with four new regional salad greenhouse hubs breaking ground to begin opening in 2024. BrightFarms' fresh lettuce options, from classic greens to crunchy mixes and salad kits, are available in more than 3,700 retail stores across the East Coast and Midwest.

The Food Safety & Quality team at BrightFarms is hiring a Food Safety Launch Lead who will be the subject matter expert in implementing food safety protocols at BrightFarms new greenhouses. This role will report to the Sr. Compliance Manager within the Food Safety & Quality Department and sit on the Future Operations Launch Team.

Specifically, you will:

Support the Sanitation Compliance Manager in creating and validating sanitation SOPs for the new farms

Train farm operators and managers of food safety & quality protocols

Define, coordinate and plan food safe cleaning with PMO team of all new sites before operation

Support the FSQ Manager in creating a food safety plan and risk assessment

Support the FSQ Manager in creating and Environmental Monitoring schedule for all new sites

Onboard and train new Food Safety Managers and team members at new sites

Support the FSQ Manager in preparing and passing SQF auditThe ideal candidate:

Bachelor’s degree in related field

Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills; positive attitude and strong work ethic

8-10 years in food safety and quality management, FDA regulations, and GFSI (preference in agriculture industry)

Experience in writing sanitation procedures, validation, and chemical management

Experience in starting or opening new facilities preferred

Collaborative team spirit, self-motivated, and strong attention to detail

Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees and management

Experience with Slack and Microsoft Teams

Additional requirements:

Ability to travel approximately 75% across the new farms and network
