Assistant Coach, Volleyball

Gardner-Webb University is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our athletics department as an Assistant Volleyball Coach.

The Assistant Volleyball Coach will work closely with the Head Volleyball Coach to support the development and success of our student-athletes both on and off the court.

Job Description and Responsibilities: The assistant volleyball coach will assist the Head Coach in all aspects of running a NCAA Division 1 volleyball program with the knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA rules and regulations * Player Development: Assist in planning and implementing effective training sessions focused on skill development, strategy, and conditioning.

* Game Day Preparation: Assist in game day preparations, including scouting opponents, developing game plans, and providing strategic guidance during matches.

* Recruitment: Assist in the recruitment of talented student-athletes by attending recruiting events, evaluating potential recruits, and maintaining communication with prospective student-athletes and their families.

* Academic Support: Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and provide support and resources to ensure academic success.

* Athletic Administration: Assist in administrative tasks under the guidance from the head coach such as scheduling, budget management, and coordinating travel arrangements.

Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (Master's degree is preferred). * Previous experience playing volleyball at the collegiate level is preferred.

* Two years coaching experience at the collegiate level is required.

* Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, strategies, and techniques.

* Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching team.

* Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.

* Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

* Computer experience to include video editing and social media knowledge.
