To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.

1.

Assists director with work schedules for each employee for routine and special assignments, assigns duties daily, and assures duties are carried out.

2.

Completes a work schedule for each employee one week prior to the end of the current schedule.

3.

Assigns daily tasks for each area and records on the daily assignment sheet.

4.

Review daily assignments from each area and assign special cleaning tasks as required.

5.

Spot checks each area weekly to assure that quality assurance standards are being met.

6.

Demonstrates knowledge of the different types of flooring and can explain the care required for each.

7.

Ensures cleaning schedules and policies are maintained for daily, routine maintenance and restorative floor care.

8.

Understands the different floor care products and their use.

9.

Exhibits the skill to operate various electrical floor care machines in the proper manner.

10.

Assures that the floors are always maintained in a clean and sanitary manner by participation and by proper delegation.

11.

Ensure that spot cleaning of all carpets is completed as soon as the spots are noted.

12.

Oversees spray buffing of the halls on a routine basis to high gloss finish.

13.

Directs the striping and waxing of all appropriate flooring on a schedule basis.

14.

Maintains all carpet by following a carpet care maintenance program and revising as needed.

15.

Exhibits understanding of housekeeping techniques to maintain a clean and sanitary environment and to assist in training of new employees.

16.

Ensures all fixtures, furniture, trash collection and disposal, replenishment of room supplies (towels, tissues, etc.), bathrooms, bedside commodes, and soiled linen are taken care of in each patient’s room.

17.

Requires all staff to utilize Universal Precautions in performing duties.

18.

Leads other duties in the department with a team spirit and in the best interest for improving the services for the entire facility.

19.

Ensures hospital and departmental policies are adhered to by all personnel.

20.

Promotes quality guest relations by identifying both internal and external customers; acknowledging customers promptly; and using expressions that express respect, understanding and enhance self-esteem.

21.

Creates a positive impression through effective use of telephone skills such as answering the phone by the third ring, identification of self and department, listening attentively, personalizing the conversation and verifying information.

22.

Controls staffing to avoid overtime.

Obtains authorization prior to allowing overtime as required by management.

23.

Completes reports timely and without prompting prior to due date.

24.

Other duties as assigned.

High school education or equivalent, required.

Technical or college education, preferred.
