Job Description:Network Administrator

Installs and maintains network systems. Responsible for overseeing the organization’s computer systems or database networks to ensure proper maintenance and security.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of networking services and common networking protocols

Computer proficiency and understanding of various types of hardware

Ability to problem solve and think critically

Project management skills

Ability to proactively manage the security, recovery and/or operation of the IT infrastructure in the event of a system failure or other urgent/emergent situation

Advanced technical skills

Excellent project management skills. Possesses the ability and motivation to manage major projects and proactively report to supervisor/director and appropriate stakeholders

Working knowledge of computers, printers, fax machines, telephones, photocopiers, modems, switches, routers, cable testers, computer shop hand tools and ladders

Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public

Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision

Demonstrates advanced technical and documentation skills

Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location

Conveys a positive and supportive team oriented attitude

Advanced telephony skills

Experience working on traditional and/or VoIP PBX systems

Excellent data cabling knowledge including punch downs for 66 and 110 blocks

Excellent project management skills. Possesses the ability and motivation to manage major projects and proactively report to supervisor/director and appropriate stakeholders

Excellent knowledge of telephones, fax machines, modems, cable testers, computer shop hand tools and ladders

Assists in meeting the organization’s strategic objectives by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to Bay Area Hospital

Versatility and ability to handle several responsibilities concurrently, recognizing changes in priorities

Exhibits leadership qualities

Ability and willingness to learn constantly evolving technology, applying it where applicable

Working knowledge of HIPAA data and infrastructure standards

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES

Associates degree or two years related work experience

CCNA Certification

Valid Oregon driver’s license

EXPERIENCE

At least 3-5 years of experience working in network administration, system administration or databases

Working knowledge of HIPAA data and infrastructure standards
