Repairs hydraulic and other control devices.

Overhaul of diesel and gasoline engines and rebuilds components.

Maintains records of work performed.

Repairs, overhaul and adjusts hydraulic control valves, hydraulic pumps and motors.

Repairs, overhaul and adjusts reduction gears, clutches, and couplings.

Replaces propeller shafts and bearings, and aligns to the engines.

Repairs and overhauls air compressors

Repair and overhaul pneumatic and hydraulic systems and controls

Repairs and rebuild conventional, conventional CPP, Azimuth, and Voith-Schnider propulsion units.

Performs related duties as required.

All personnel are required to ensure that quality is maintained and that they are responsible for the H&S of themselves and others. All personnel are also to be responsible to ensure no contamination of the environment etc.

Education

High School or Diploma of Welding

Experience(s) – Specify the nature and the number of years of relevant experience considered as minimum for this job.

Completion of grammar school and one year of progressive experience in the repair of engines and mechanical equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Professional Qualifications or Certifications (from recognized institutions or professional regulation bodies) Required, if any.

As per Company external qualification and training matrix.

Computer Skill / Proficiency:

General Computer.

Communication Skills Required

Completion of grammar school and three years of progressive experience in the repair of gearboxes, transmissions, hydraulic, air systems, and components, preferably in the ship repair or shipbuilding industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Personal Competencies and Attributes

-Knowledge of the techniques and methods used to determine and solve mechanical problems.

-Working knowledge of the operating principles of reduction gears, hydraulic, air, and electric control systems; and vacuum and pressure pumps.

- Ability to determine the cause of, and procedures to follow in repairing malfunctioning equipment.

Others (if any) – Indicate other characteristics required of the job holder to meet unique requirements of the job(e.g. physical demands, frequent travel, etc.)

Physical strength to move heavy objects and perform manual labor for considerable periods of time
