JOB DUTIES JOB QUALIFICATIONS Description The Department of Surgery is seeking a Limited Full Time Staff Reseach Assistant I who will work in a cutting-edge regenerative medicine research laboratory under the mentorship of the PI.

In this role you will culture human stem cells and organoids, perform tissue sectioning, and perform qRT-PCR and immunohistochemistry (IHC) to characterize impacts of AAV-mediated gene therapy in specific tissues, organs and modified stem cell lines in support of the PI’s grant projects.

Pay Range: $25.75 – $30.71 hourly Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience in chemistry, microbiology, biochemistry and molecular biology Skill in routine molecular and cellular biology techniques.

Ability to communicate effectively on a one-to-one basis sufficiently to convey experimental results to principal investigators.

Writing skills sufficient to compose laboratory protocols which are clear, concise, logical and display proper syntax and grammar.

Interpersonal skill to interact and collaborate effectively with scientist co-workers, graduate students and faculty.

Skill in handling and disposing of contaminated material according to protocol.

Ability to organize raw data into relevant formats.

Reading skills sufficient to understand specific protocol relevant journal articles, and equipment.

Ability to perform library searches.

Interest in stem cell biology, gene therapy and regenerative medicine Experience working software packages for data analysis DR.
