Job Description

SUMMARY:

Sanitation personnel report directly to the Quality Manager. They are primarily responsible for the cleanliness of the office areas, outlying areas of production, and other minor cleaning duties throughout the plant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sanitation Personnel work from a Master Sanitation Task List that lists each cleaning function to be performed, as well as the frequency. They are required to sign off/date completed work.

Sanitation Personnel are primarily responsible for ensuring cleaning chemical supplies, paper products, and other sanitation items are ordered from vendors in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Sanitation Personnel support any cleaning or extra sanitation tasks in preparation for external or internal audits.

Sanitation Personnel perform any other necessary cleaning duties given to them by the Plant Manager, Quality Manager, or other management personnel.

Train and mentor new employees, as required.

Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Exposed to some noise, heat and wet work surfaces. Exposed to cleaning compounds that could affect those with allergies to cleaning products. Must be able to read, see, hear, and speak. Sitting, standing, walking and stooping. Occasional stooping, bending, lifting and reaching. Must be able to lift, push, pull and cleaning equipment, that could require exertion and lifting of more than 50 pounds.
