Manufacturing Maintenance or Manufacturing Engineer

Job Location: Gainesville, GA

We are looking for an on-site Manufacturing Engineer “MFE”, is responsible for assembly line machinery to ensure proper working order. The MFE coordinates, installs, samples, and troubleshoots machinery to ensure successful production activities required to meet business objectives.

Responsibilities

The MFE is responsible for maintaining and improving production processes, tools and equipment in the assembly area.

Maintain and carry out repairs on the assembly lines

Troubleshooting machines to resolve alarms or breakdowns

Gathering data and compiling reports to assess the effectiveness of assembly procedures

Reporting the daily status of production and quality (SPC, CpK, etc.)

Instructing and training the production and support employees

Checking the quality, 6IMS on the shop floor during regular production tours and discuss with employees

Ensure quality testing (QMIS) by participating in audits and ensure that Q-requirements are implemented

Ensure traceability in case of occurring defects (internal)

Carry out machine and process capability studies

Define process parameters and ensure adherence to parameters

Plan and initiate procurement of auxiliary materials and consumption tools

Ensure availability of resources to carry out production orders (equipment incl. machines, raw materials and tools)

Optimize CNC-programs, machining and setup processes with respect to the machine

Create and adapt work instructions and BU-specific maintenance plan

Implement measures to optimize production figures (e.g. OEE, scrap)

Adapt existing programs according to technical requirements

Plan spare parts requirements and initiate orders

Preventative and Predictive Maintenance requirements for normal operation(Look in Maintenance Engineer JD)

Prioritizes tool changes in coordination with Manufacturing Manager

Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental guidelines and regulations (environment according ISO14001, compliance)

Utilize staff on the shop floor, allocate tasks (service & operator) and check work results

Education and Experience

Technical/Associate Degree in Engineering or significant work experience of a minimum 3 years

Experience with IATF Standard

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Experience in sampling and qualifying new tools and processes

Ability to use calipers, micrometers, gauges and other measurement tools

Ability to train others

Familiar with in inch/metric translation and required measuring equipment

Practical statistics knowledge

Manufacturing experience required (assembly)

Automotive manufacturing experience preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills throughout all levels

Strong hands-on problem solving skills

Flexible work schedule

Experience in a multicultural environment

Computer Skills (MS Office) and SAP knowledge preferred
