The CDL Hazmat Trainee Driver will be trained by an external FMSCA accredited 1 on 1 CDL Training Program provided by Associated Couriers to acquire a commercial driver’s license (CDL-Class B) with Hazmat endorsement. Associated Couriers will cover the cost of obtaining a CDL-B License backed by a 1-year promissory note of employment. Once the trainee passes their CDL Class B Hazmat, they will be ready to complete routes on their own and there will be an increase in their hourly rate.

Responsibilities:

Successfully complete Associated Couriers CDL training program, which includes classroom study, on-route training, driving experience, and examinations necessary to take and pass the state CDL examination

Complete twelve (12) full months of employment with Associated Couriers after obtaining a CDL

Learn to perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the assigned vehicle in accordance with company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order

Learn to safely operate a commercial vehicle a designated route, read route sheet, follow map and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher and/or supervisor

Learn to operate automatic controls in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures

Provide a high standard of Customer Service while delivering goods to customers

Other responsibilities as assigned by management

Schedule: Generally, from Monday to Saturday, starting around 7 am and ending at 3 pm, with Sundays and typically Tuesdays off. However, please note that this schedule may be adjusted as necessary to accommodate business requirements.

Pay: $18.50-$20 per hour

*Once CDL B Hazmat is obtained pay range will increase to $24-$26Requirements:

Skills Required:

Outstanding communication and organizational skills

Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws

Strong time management and customer service skills

Ability to walk, drive, lift, and carry heavy items for extended periods

Excellent attention to detail skills

Travel & Work Conditions:

Ability to lift up to 105 lbs

Exposure weather conditions with possible exposure to extreme hot and cold weather elements when outside or driving

Ability to walk, drive, lift, and carry heavy items for extended periods

Education and Experience:

At least 21 years of age

Valid driver’s license for your state of residency and no more than 2 moving violations or at fault accidents in the past 3 years

Associated Couriers will cover the cost of obtaining a CDL-B License backed by a 1-year promissory note of employment

Obtain DOT Med card and CDL Class B Hazmat within 30 days from hire date

Has a highschool diploma or equivalent

Pass a Security Threat Assessment (STA) from the Transportation & Security Administration (TSA) to handle items for air cargo and deliver said items to the airport for shipment and maintain this authorization

Ability to pass a DOT drug test to meet FMSCA requirements

Work Authorization:

Must be authorized to work in the United States without any type of work authorization or work sponsorship now or in the future
