Description:

The CNC Swiss Machinist performs set ups, tool changes, wear offsets, and quality inspections as needed to produce parts used in the plumbing industry. This position works from part blueprints and layouts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Makes safety the number one priority by leading by example, addressing unsafe conditions & behaviors, and supporting safety improvement initiatives

Supports continuous improvement by participating in events and submitting opportunities for improvements

Performs set ups, tool changes, tool touch offs, and offsets

Maintains a clean and organized work area

Operates machine at established production rates; troubleshoots common machine issues, escalating to Supervisor as necessary

Monitors raw materials in work area; communicates with material handlers on component shortages

Performs visual inspections of components and finished goods to ensure quality requirements are met

Completes paperwork, including production reports

Cross trains and performs in other work centers as needed to meet customer demands

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum of two years of relevant experience. Previous experience with Tsugami Swiss lathes, IEMCA bar feeder, strongly preferred

Must be competent in blueprint reading and be knowledgeable of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Can proficiently use inspection equipment to validate part quality

Able to lift up to 50lbs on occasion.

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Reasoning Ability: Apply procedures and workplace experience to make quality and manufacturing related decisions that will best protect the customer.

Mathematical Skills: Shop Math: add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure. Basic geometry that will assist in blueprint comprehension and G and M Code programming.

Previous experience running and programming Tsugami Swiss machines preferred

Previous experience Programming using PartMaker software preferred
