Are you a Docking Superintendent passionate about continuous improvement with previous experience overseeing vessel docking? If so, we have an opportunity for a Docking Superintendent to join our team in Brisbane, QLD on a permanent full-time basis.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Regional Technical Manager, you will provide comprehensive support, coordination and expert guidance to stakeholders overseeing vessel dockings throughout the region. Due to the nature of the role, we require someone with flexible availability as there will be frequent travel involved (domestic and international), which may be for extended periods at a time, with after-hours work involved.

Your key responsibilities in this position will include:

Provide guidance to project owners on procedural and governance requirements regarding technical, finance, procurement and legal aspects

Manage and execute vessel dockings or projects, ensuring the completion of agreed-upon scope of works and in accordance with classification society, flag state and company procedures

Support project owners and coordinate docking closure following the company's timeline, including cost tracking, reconciliation, final docking reports, and evaluations of shipyards/contractors.

Provide regular updates on project progress, and proactive resolution of any issues or concerns that may arise during the course of dockings or projects.

Negotiate with external stakeholders on contracts and agreements

Ensure all docking and projects are adequately resourced and risk assessed, with the appropriate procedures, standards, permits and licenses.

Supervise and lead Docking Engineers assigned to dockings and projects.

Continuously assess docking and project processes to identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency and reducing costs.

What You Will Need To Succeed

To be successful in this position, you will be able to demonstrate:

Engineering trade or qualification, ideally with a background in marine engineering.

Proven track record of working in marine technical roles, showcasing a strong understanding of marine systems and operation.

Prior experience in working with Australian flagged vessels.

Experience collaborating with Classification Societies, with familiarity ideally with Lloyd's Register standards and procedures.

Experience in heavy fitting and shipyard operations, demonstrating proficiency in vessel maintenance, repair, and construction.

Proven experience in developing and maintaining project timelines and plans, ensuring clear objectives and milestones are established and adhered to.

Demonstrated capability in technical writing, ensuring accurate and detailed documentation

Ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure situations, particularly during emergencies, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project
