We are seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to help with the accounting and finance function here at Lantern. You will be responsible for all accounts payable, including contractor payments, vendor billing, You will also assist with grant and business classifications, ensuring we are properly prepared audits. The pay for this position will be based on experience but will range from $25-33 an hour.Responsibilities
Receive and review contractor/vendor bills for accuracy and appropriate grant and company classification
Submit bills for approval, track for timely processing and pay both domestic and international contractors
Run payroll for employees and partners
Track and file owner credit card expense receipts & submit for approval
Record financial transactions and reconcile to financial statements
Assist with year end 1099 preparation and filing
Assist with Innovate and BNS tax return/audit preparationRequired Qualifications
Proven bookkeeping experience with government grants highly preferred
Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable principles
Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and QuickBooks
Proficiency in Excel, Word and other accounting technology
Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
