Job Description

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for a HD Commercial Vehicles Technician and Test Driver for our Commercial Vehicle Development team in Southern California:

Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance tasks, including fluid changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and brake inspections, on heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in vehicles, using diagnostic tools and equipment.

Repair or replace faulty components, such as motors, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and proactively address them to prevent downtimes.

Perform computerized diagnostics and utilize specialized software to identify and rectify vehicle issues.

Perform instrumentation installation per Test Engineers' guidance for vehicle performance evaluations.

Conduct road tests and test drives to evaluate the performance, handling, and overall condition of vehicles.

Document and maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.

Collaborate with other technicians and team members to share knowledge, expertise, and best practices.

Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and manufacturer guidelines.

Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

Proficient in MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; MS Internet Explorer

Ability to travel domestically (15%) & internationally (5%)

Proven experience as a heavy-duty commercial vehicle's technician, with expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Strong knowledge of vehicle systems (chassis, suspension, air brakes, high voltage electrical, electric motors) and diagnostic tools.

Proficient in using computerized diagnostic equipment and software.

Compensation

$47,999-65,000

Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Additional technical certifications or vocational training in automotive technology preferred.

Valid light duty Driver's License

Commercial driver's license preferred (CDL)
