Job Description

An Inside Sales Support team member is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our products. An Inside Sales Support team member must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. This individual will identify technical issues of assigned accounts to ensure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.

An outline of daily duties will regularly include, but are not limited to the following items:

Engineering Duties & Responsibilities:

Mechanical Systems Controls Design:

Product Selection: choosing the correct sensors, valves, materials, end devices, etc. with the best performance/cost ratio that meets the product specifications and project needs.

Network Design: Alerton, Honeywell, Tridium, Encelium and new product lines Climatec may acquire in the future.

Project Cost Estimation: capturing costs such as material and labor

Subcontract Procurement: scoping the job competitively with electrical and other trades

AutoCAD Submittal Drawings: procuring design assist and final design submittal drawings for Climatec, Contractor Customers and Engineers

Site Visits: driving to potential work sights and field engineering a system when plans are not available.

Sales Duties & Responsibilities:

Proposal Writing: effectively and succinctly communicating in report or presentation format the value proposition Climatec extends to customers. This includes any procurement steps required to ensure successful delivery of the end product.

Contacting Customers: calling, emailing, and visiting all existing and potential contractors, engineers and owners that Climatec does business with to be the face of the company.

Project Follow Up: calling, emailing, driving, visiting, seeking out all potential bidders for project award information leading up to and including closing the deal.

Construction Duties & Responsibilities:

Contract Document Management: tracking down all the plans and specifications, maintaining a record of all addenda and scope changes, archiving information and summaries for project turn-over to operations.

Project Management Assistance: being a liaison between operations and customer or contractor for coordination, particularly as it pertains to potential for new or recurring work.

Project Turn Over Meetings: presenting both the technical and intangible features of a project to the operations team. Ensuring that there has been a true passing of the torch right from the beginning of the job.

Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum of high school diploma. Two-year technical degree in HVAC or Electronics related studies preferred. An undergraduate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Construction Management, or other related studies is excellent but not required.

Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience in the Building Automation marketplace

Other technical experience such as military, on the job training programs, etc. may meet this requirement as determined by local management.

Experience and expertise including but not limited to:

An understanding of basic computer systems including MS Office Suite of products.

Clear and concise ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Willingness to develop selling skills on own time, which may include books, seminars or training classes.

Essential Functions:

Be able to lift and carry drawings, personal computers, material, etc.

Maintain a satisfactory driving record which, per Climatec’s vehicle policy, allows the individual to drive a company vehicle or receive auto allowance.
