About BASF in Vietnam

BASF has been active in Vietnam since the establishment of its representative office in 1994 and celebrates its 30-year presence in the country this year. BASF Vietnam Limited was set up in 2009. The company maintains two sales offices in Hồ Chí Minh City and Hà Nội, offering solutions for Vietnam’s key industries, including Agriculture, Construction, Automotive, Footwear, Paints & Coatings and Electrical & Electronics. OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION

• Ensure that non-conformance raw materials will be detected and will not be released to production without confirmation from the responsible teams/ parties.

• Ensure that non-conformance finished goods (FGs) will be detected and will not be released to customer(s).

• Perform Quality control (QC) tasks and achieve Key performance indicators (KPIs) of QC, including incident trouble shooting and efficient improvement.

• Ensure all concession reports are available when materials are released.

• Ensure all QC processes and system are updated and implemented consistently.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACTIVITIES

QC Management

• Be responsible for QC and related processes of individual project.

• Adhere to the processes needed for QC and ensure procedures are followed without violations.

• Ensure the pre-alarm management of to-be-expired material is managed effectively.

• Achieve the defined targets and objectives of EHS/ Quality with tracked corrective measures.

QC Operation

• Conduct the inspections for all raw materials and imported finished products according to defined specifications to identify any defects.

• Conduct lab tests for shelf-life extensions of raw materials and finished products, inclusive of imported or locally produced ones; Ensure the reliability of testing reports.

• Communicate the findings of defects in timely manner to responsible teams (Technical Services, Supply Chain, etc.) and closely coordinate with them for safe and appropriate solutions.

• Escalate any critical quality defects that could impact business and safety to higher level.

• Prepare QC reports and keep the records according to ISO guidelines and ensure all inspection data are well maintained in SAP.

• Analyse data of defected raw materials and finished products; and raise the relevant report to manager/ relating teams.

• Analyse data of defected goods and raise relevant reports to manager.

• Ensure all lab equipment is maintained with well-defined schedule.

• Ensure the lab and sample storage arrangements are adhered to 5S standards.

• Ensure the lab safety according to the EHS rules/regulations and Responsible care (RC) requirements.

Other assignments

• Support the root cause analysis of quality issues.

• Assist in customer audits, external and internal audit for the Quality Management system.

• Ensure all activities are complied with all ISO9001:2015, EHS rules/regulations and Quality management’s requirements.

• Perform other tasks as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in chemical engineering or relevant.

• Min 3-year experiences in Quality Control/ Quality Assurance in Manufacturing/ Laboratory environment.

• Knowledge of quality management, 5S, chemical inspections.

• Able to communicate in English (Min A2); Fluent usage of MS Office.

• Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems is advantageous.

• Required Competencies: Demonstrate Customer Focus, Communicate Effectively, Collaborate for Achievement
