Job Summary

A Generator Technician is a service professional who will be responsible for repairing and performing preventative maintenance on portable and backup Generator equipment and providing advice to our customers and other technicians.

Must have a lot of technical knowledge- using hand tools and diagnostic equipment, and work with big and small mechanical components.

Will be working directly with clients and customers to help them understand what is needed to keep our engines running, and different options for repair or maintenance.

Sales skills are helpful, as we provide both service and support plans.

Responsibilities and Duties

Generac and/or Kohler certification.

Strength: Engines and parts can be extremely heavy and will take a lot of strength to move or manipulate.

Needs mechanical skills and have familiarity with parts and components of engines, as well as the tools to fix them.

Technical Skills: Some engine mechanics will need to be familiar with electronic diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot repairs.

Must be able to look at engine components, troubleshoot problems, and define a solution that alleviates the symptom(s).

Qualifications and Skills

A skilled multi-tasker

Able to empathize with irate customers and handle them in a professional and compassionate manner.

Will have exemplary communication skills, and be a good smooth, calm and enthusiastic talker.

Exhibit a keen sense of attention to detail Being able to pay attention to the minute details of engine repair.
