Title: Machine Assembler
Shift: Day Shift, 6am-4:30pm, M-F
Pay: $27.00 to $32.00/hr
This position does require travel domestically and occasionally international travel
Who we are:
Our client manufactures custom magnetics including transformers, reactors, chokes, inductors, and custom enclosures. They are looking to grow their team at their facility near Warren, OH.
Machine Assembler Responsibilities:
The main responsibility of this position will be to assemble and disassemble large pieces of steel equipment to assist in the production process. Other duties include:
Verify conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers
Align components for assembly, manually or with hoist, and bolts, screws, dowels, welds, using hand tools, and welding equipment, or arranges for assembly by welder and electrician
Remove high spots, and smooth surfaces, using chisels, scrapers, files, and powered hand grinder
Assemble, set up, and operate machines to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer's specifications
Form, bend and fasten piping, fixtures, and attachments required to service machines with air, water, and oil. May bend and install pipe for hydraulic systems
Work as a member of team in the part of the fabrication process
Verify alignment and tolerance of moving parts, using measuring instruments, such as dial indicators and thickness gauges
Install moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and work them to test free movement and operation of assembly by hand
Align and mesh gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears
Mount and connect auxiliary, mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic or hydraulic equipment; cuts and fits pipe and tubing
Test or assist in testing operation of completed product
Read and interpret blueprints
Use a variety of inspection equipment and assembly tools
Work with solvents and paints
Use drill press to tap and drill holes
Work with piping and tubing for lube and hydraulic process
Operate overhead crane and forklift
About You:
3-5 years mechanical assembly experience
Solid mechanical skills, must have mechanical ability to proficiently use cranes and other heavy tools and equipment that are normally required in the daily assembly and disassembly operations.
Own tools of the trade, and the ability to use them effectively.
Ability to use judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of operations and processes within the limitations of established or standard methods and procedures
Must be able to interpret customer prints well enough to determine appropriate disassembly sequence for variety of heavy equipment
Ability to read, interpreting variety of assembly prints and understanding verbal and written instructions
Capable of using a drill press to tap/drill holes per the layout
Basic computer skills and ability to use basic shop math
Ability to verbally communicate with team members, supervisors and Engineers
Possess the physical strength and ability to safely handle heavy equipment and tools
