Position: Seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner/ Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry (PMHNP/NPP) to join our Outpatient Behavioral Health Team in the Hudson Valley.

Reports To: Medical Director, Associate Medical Director

Status: Full-Time, Exempt, Permanent

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:30pm or 9:30am-6:30pm, with one late day 10am-7pm, 40 hours per week

Hybrid: 2-3 days on-site, remainder of the week remote telehealth

Salary: $150,000 - $175,000 based on education, experience, licensure, and board certification

Sign-on bonus available.

Position Overview:

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner/ Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry (PMHNP/NPP) will provide psychiatric care to clients in a community mental health setting.

The Nurse Practitioner functions with wide latitude to exercise independent professional judgment.

Nurse Practitioner’s act as resources of information for other employees of the agency.

Clinical supervision is received from the Medical Director while administrative supervision is received from the Center Director.

Position Qualifications:

Licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner/ Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry (PMHNP/NPP) by the New York State Education Department required.

Master’s degree nursing with psychiatric profession required.

Must be board certified.

3+ years’ experience preferred.

Currently credentialed with Medicare and Medicaid preferred.

Board Certification Requirement:

A Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner/ Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry (PMHNP/NPP) will have a board certification form one of the following.

ANCC

American Academy of NP

AACN

National Cert of Nursing

NPCC

Position Requirements:

Render psychiatric and neurological diagnostic services for clients, utilizing the contributions of mental health professionals.

Participates in the intake and screening process of patients.

Provides medication management.

Works to ensure continuity of service.

Provides referral information to alternate placement facilities.

Reviews intake and treatment plans and signs the record as required by regulations.

Participates in in-service training.

Participates in information-educational community activities to further community knowledge in the detection and prevention of psychiatric

disorders.

Act as a resource person for other staff in the areas of medicine, psychiatry, and neurology.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Thorough professional knowledge of the practice of

psychiatry.

Good knowledge of current psychiatric treatments and trends.

Ability to supervise and instruct staff members.

Ability to develop good community relations.

Ability to write clear and concise reports.

Ability to develop and maintain collaborative and supportive working relationships with all members of the clinical and clerical staff.

Inform Center/Clinic Director of relevant clinical and administrative issues.

Actively support program goals and system improvements/changes.

Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating patient condition and making decisions on an appropriate course of treatment.

Ability to relate sympathetically to a potentially difficult client population.

Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the

position.
