JR48427 IT Engineer (Data Services)

Responsibilities:

Provide support in incident, request, change and problem management related to database operations.

Provide oncall support, including outside of office hours, and participate in Major incidents.

Ensure SLA for incidents and service requests are met with high quality of work.

Install and upgrade database systems, apply patches and implement changes when required.

Diagnose and fix database errors ensuring high availability of database systems.

Manage databases access, backups and ensure compliance to database and security standards.

Monitor database performance proactively and perform analysis of cases to prevent recurring issues.

Review and enhance database monitoring when required.

Develop processes and operation procedures related to database operations.

Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.

Perform capacity planning and participate in Disaster Recovery drill.

Provide global support for sites in North America and Asia.

Perform changes on critical databases related to manufacturing and engineering.

Collaborate with site customers on new database requirements, problem resolution and data flow requests.

Engineer solutions and automations to improve productivity and efficiency of database operations and reliability and availability of the database systems.

Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.

Participate in worldwide collaboration for technical sharing and reference architecture alignment.

Participate in global projects and initiatives, such as new site startups and factory expansions.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics/Computer/Software Engineering, Information Systems or related fields.

Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience may be considered for a senior position.

Experienced candidates need to be proficient in at least one of the following:

Microsoft SQL Server

Oracle Database

Good understanding and hands-on experience in the following areas will be advantageous:

Linux and Windows operation systems.

Programming and scripting languages such as Java, PowerShell and Python.

Solid command of SQL and SQL server tools

Effective oral and written communication with strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
