About us

Vado Port System, also known as Vado Gateway, is made up of two well integrated terminals: Reefer Terminal and its new semi-automated container terminal.

With the launch of the new platform in 2019, Vado Ligure became the first semi-automated port in Italy with a fully automated gate and stacking yard.

Vado Gateway is one of the most competitive terminals in Europe, combining innovation, automation, intermodal connectivity, and the ability to offer fully integrated and complex services such as cold storage, project cargo, Ro-Ro and intermodal transport.

We are currently looking for a Dispatcher Intern who will join our team based in Vado Ligure and will be hired to work on shifts.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To ensure that all operations are executed in accordance to the priorities set by the Shift Manager, to report any problem in operations and to implement the agreed changes to solve the problems;

To ensure the optimum utilization of all equipment;

To ensure smooth and speedy movement of containers to and/or from rail siding and external road traffic vehicles transfer area;

To update the system with equipment identification on a continual basis;

To monitors the dispatch queues to identify potential clashes and delays in the yard;

To manually dispatche work instructions that are not in an automatic dispatch queue;

Responsible to elaborate reports requested by the management;

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

In depth knowledge of logistics, yard planning/lay-out and container terminal operations;

Effective analytical, numeracy, reporting and problem-solving skills;

Proactive approach to improve systems and procedures that will lead to operational efficiency;

High level of planning and organizational skills;

Able to work in a team

Basic literacy and numeracy skills in Italian and English

IT skills, Flexibility and Accuracy

Location: Vado Ligure, Italy.
