LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a Capex Project Engineer to join their team in Gurnee, IL. You will play a crucial role in the successful execution and delivery of capital projects within a chemical plant. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in chemical engineering, hands-on experience in capital project delivery, and a comprehensive understanding of safety regulations, including OSHA requirements, PTW (Permit to Work), MOC (Management of Change), and PSM (Process Safety Management) requirements. Key Responsibilities:

Project Management: Lead and manage capital projects from conceptualization through execution, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

Engineering Expertise: Apply chemical engineering principles to design and optimize various aspects of the chemical plant, including plant ventilation systems, reactors, lockout/tagout procedures, mills, dispersion activities, unit operations, and HSDs (High-Speed Dispersion).

Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety protocols throughout the project lifecycle. Implement and oversee PTW, MOC, and PSM requirements to guarantee a safe working environment.

Quality Assurance: Monitor and control project quality, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company specifications.

Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate project progress, challenges, and achievements to key stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.

Proven experience in engineering roles within a chemical plant environment.

Demonstrated expertise in capital project delivery.

Familiarity with OSHA requirements, PTW, MOC, and PSM regulations.

Strong knowledge of plant ventilation systems, reactors, lockout/tagout, mills, dispersion activities, unit operations, and HSDs.

Project management skills with a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
