Associate Cost controller
Associate Cost Controller will be part of the Maersk Line global cost controlling organization and will work with wide range of stakeholders in and outside of the finance organization to improve data quality of Liner cost reporting. Cost Controller will be responsible to ensure that the global accounting processes are followed and the costs are complete, timely, accurate and well controlled. Senior Cost Controller will also be responsible for auditing the financial processes, driving optimization of these within the Regional/ Cluster. Cost controller is expected to act proactively to search for and implement continuous improvements in cost controlling and reporting. Key Responsibilities:
Manage preparation of monthly NOPS reporting
Review & validate the cost records and calculation of unit costs
Conduct moderately complex cost audits under limited supervision
Ensure all necessary controls and compliance checks are performed on periodic basis and duly signed off
Perform detailed cost analysis and provide explanations/ cost drivers behind periodic variance
Ensure accurate and timely cost reporting
Develop recommendations for changes to processes and systems that will minimise risk, improve performance and productivity 8) Assist regional cost controller in any ad-hoc financial reporting and act as back up
Required experience & skills:
Solid financial educational background as Masters in Finance Management degree in Finance and Accounting and good understanding of control framework
3-7 years of experience within cost controlling, cost accounting, P&L analysis etc.
Self-motivated and continuously looks for opportunities to improve financial reporting and processes by exploring new approaches and ideas
Good analytical and structured working method
High competency in written and verbal English
Adapts easily to a fast changing environment and ability to handle phases with high workload and unplanned activities.
Team player - works together with others to achieve results and fosters teamwork
Shipping/ Transportation industry experience would be an added advantage but not mandator
