Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Essential responsibilities include the design, analysis, testing and validation of gearboxes (including gears, bearings, shafts, couplings etc and in ICE and EV environment)

• Use software to create detailed 2D or 3D designs for complex projects.

• Collaborate within team and with other departments to establish timelines, packaging interface sign-off, problem solving, VAVE, etc.

• Knowledge of automotive industry, engineering and materials.

• Ability to analyse data and situation and come up with creative solutions. To suggest improvements with respect to product performance, cost reduction, etc

• Keep up to date on industry and engineering standards.

• Coordinate, Lead and Participate in Design Reviews

Skills critical for the role:

• Knowledge of Automotive system/subsystem and its effect on driveline.

• Reasonable knowledge of Catia, Teamcenter and MS-Office.

• Reasonable knowledge & experience on relevant software for design/simulation (Kisssoft/Masta/Romax etc)

• Knowledge/exposure to Reliability Engineering

• Working knowledge of System Design Specification, DFMEA, and Design Validation Process

• Some travel may be required.

Experience

7 to 8 Years

Qualifications

BE or ME in Mechanical/ Automobile Engineering

General Requirements

• Graduate with minimum 6years of industrial experience in Mechanical Engineering in rotating machinery and/or rotating components design

• Experience with materials and manufacturing techniques used in gearboxes including alloys and coatings as well as grinding, finishing and hardening methods

• Ability to work across all functions/levels as part of a team

• High level Analytical skills

• Reasonable written and verbal communication skills

• Understanding the changes in driveline for EV specific requirements.

Knowledge of Automotive system/subsystem and its effect on driveline.
