IMMEDIATE INTERIM OPPORTUNITY Interim Head of Sustainability Projects Reports To: VP Operations, Supply Chain & Procurement Duration: 3 – 6 months Location: Etobicoke, Canada Our client is a North American food manufacturing company with a global footprint.

They are seeking an Interim Head of Sustainability Projects to lead a Canada-wide certification process.

This new role requires a strategic and agile leader that can collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to deliver some short-term strategic initiatives while also helping to plan the future state of the sustainability function.

Experience leading certifications within the food sector is a mandatory requirement.

Key Accountabilities: Oversee a critical and time-sensitive sustainability certification process in collaboration with stakeholders externally and across the business (operations, finance, HR, etc.). Provide on-going reporting of the project milestones and deliverables, communicating general corporate updates to senior leadership.

Gather information and enable timely decision-making and pivots as required to respond to audit and compliance requirements.

Review and evaluate existing sustainability tools and programs and provide recommendations to create the future state of the sustainability function.

Consolidate data required for successful certification and feed that information to the relevant stakeholders (both internal and external) and into the relevant systems.

Escalate any encountered issues through established channels to avoid unexpected delays or failures.

Coordinate all necessary resources to ensure timely delivery of project and to resolve any and all issues which may impact the success and timeliness of the certification process.

Conduct project related site tours, meetings and other activities.

Begin process to implement new sustainability and environmental policies and programs.

Support training needs, co-ordinate, and conduct sustainability training for sites.

Competencies and Requirements: Sustainability experience, preferably in the Food Manufacturing industry.

Experience supporting projects or certifications that contribute to the build and execution of an organization’s sustainability strategy.

PMP designation or equivalent certification is an asset but not a requirement.

Motivated by a rapid business tempo and a desire to build through collaboration.

Ability to operate strategically and tactically, as the situation requires.

Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify potential hurdles and mitigate before they arise.

Experience managing projects involving multi-disciplinary teams.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.
