The Marketing Manager plans, directs and controls all marketing activities for a respective product portfolio, including the setting of marketing strategy and objectives, collaboration with market research, sales promotion, advertising, medical affairs, market access, development of the marketing expenses and drive profitability for a range of products.

Establishes marketing goals to ensure share of market and profitability of products/services.

In this case, the product scope is for the entire Interventional Systems portfolio

Job Responsibilities

Developing strategic marketing plans

Develop the marketing strategy for the South Africa, West & East Sub-Saharan Africa region for the entire Interventional Systems portfolio, linked to the EMEA Interventional Systems portfolio and strategy

Gathers, analyses and reports relevant market, customer and product data related to the Interventional Systems product portfolio

Competitor Intelligence analysis on competition strategy, products and pricing and benchmarking of Interventional Systems Marketing activities

Prepares a yearly product and marketing strategy for the Interventional Systems portfolio, incorporating the commercial strategy for internal and external stakeholders of South Africa, West & East Sub-Saharan Africa, in support of the commercial organization to achieve company targets

Develop the commercial strength of our service & product towards a valuable solutions offering

Use sales forecasting and strategic planning analysis to ensure the profitable sale of products and services solutions in line with the Long Range Plan (LRP)

Managing Promotional activities and Product Portfolio

Develops in collaboration with the Interventional Systems CBX team all the necessary promotional materials in order to support the sales activities of EEM teams thus, contributing to the Client digital transformation

The organisation of congress, symposia and Client Learning Edge workshops, partnering with the Event Specialist of the Region, Medical Affairs and local sales teams to achieve learning objectives

Contributes to Client brand image through communication with third parties. Maintain excellent relations with external official parties, authorities and organisations

Implementing Marketing plans

Cascade the Marketing strategy to the local Sales organisation and Distributors, through regular communication, review of sales results and field visits in the countries

Track monthly sales performance, understanding the gaps/pressure points and support countries with corrective strategies

Works closely with the digital team to utilise DetailAid on ShowPad for monitoring, tracking and adaptation of marketing materials

Acts as marketing lead for the branch and monitor and track complaints and recalls –highlight and report negative trends

Aligns and collaborates with Access & Closure, Therapeutics and IO teams to leverage product portfolios/launches as one client Interventional Systems

Align and support training activities

Aligns product focus with Client training teams to ensure sales force trainings are contributing to strategic portfolio objectives

Supports the commercial teams as product specialist

Contribute to the creation and Marketing of New products

Closely follows up the market reality and product evolutions in the field of the Interventional Systems portfolio and look for new added value for the customer

Investigates which additional products or technologies are necessary in order to expand the business. Contribute ideas for the creation of new products and solution concepts

Manages all marketing activities of new Client products in order to successfully introduce these (new) products to the Region

Cross functional field evaluation of (new) products and management of Post Market Surveillance

Requirements

Skills & Experience:

University degree or comparable education in marketing, or proven relevant experience

Practical experience in all marketing strategy, concepts and techniques including product launches in South Africa, West & East Sub-Saharan Africa

Deep knowledge of the Medical Devices, Diagnostics or Pharmaceutical industry market

Former Sales experience preferred

Good digital multichannel experience

Good project management skills and a track record in delivering projects within budget and timeline

Proven problem-solving skills

Excellent presentation skills and strong ability to communicate effectively when building plan – be able to articulate complex viewpoints and arguments with clarity and purpose, and have the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation

Able to work in EMEA matrix organization, in a dynamic environment

Team player and willing to work collaboratively across the organization and with others to reach results/resolution

Excellent ability to function in a self-directed manner with a high degree of autonomy

Strong capability to engage others and to establish strong collaborative relationships and network with the South Africa, West & East Sub-Saharan AfricaSales and Back-Office Teams

Proficient in English, other languages such as French or local languages can be an advantage
