Responsibilities
Dispense medications accurately and efficiently to patients according to prescriptions and established procedures
Review and interpret prescriptions for appropriateness of dosage, drug interactions, and contraindications
Provide drug information and counseling to patients regarding proper medication use, potential side effects, and precautions
Monitor and evaluate patient medication therapies for effectiveness and safety
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement medication therapy plans
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations
Maintain accurate and complete patient medication records
Participate in medication management and quality improvement initiatives
Stay updated with the latest advancements in pharmacy practice and drug therapy
Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
Valid pharmacist license in the state of practice
Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards of practice
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing and documentation
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Proficiency in computer systems and pharmacy software
