About the client:PSS has been mandated to hire an Assistant Vice President - Legal, for a company that focuses primarily on the housing finance needs of the self-employed, belonging to low and middle-income families primarily from semi-urban and rural markets.
Job Purpose
The incumbent would oversee the Legal Function and would be responsible for achieving the milestones in terms of various strategic parameters set by the organization
Key Responsibilities
To formulate and put in place a robust, uniform legal scrutiny process of all documents related to the housing loan proposals
Monitoring of MODT registration
Review and provide legal opinion on all legal documents of the housing loan customers.
Liaise with relevant departments
Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management in all contracts entered by the company
Provide and interpret legal information, conduct training and disseminate knowledge to sales staff
Educational Qualifications And Experience
A Law graduate with 15 to 20 years of experience
Leadership experience including the ability to set direction, manage and motivate people and work collaboratively with other teams.
