Assessing patients and their clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic

Performing a range of radiographic examinations on patients to produce high-quality images;

Observing and maintaining contact with patients during their waiting, examination and post- examination stay in the department.

Assisting in more complex radiological examinations working with radiologists and doctors and

Providing support and reassurance to patients, taking into account their physical and surgeons. psychological needs.

Recording imaging identification and patient documentation quickly and accurately and observing protocols to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act and patient confidentiality.

Understanding and observing health and safety at work and welfare issues, including ionizing radiation regulations, to protect yourself and others.

Ensuring that equipment is regularly checked for malfunctions and any faults are reported.

Responding to telephone enquiries relating to patients, lab requests, x-rays, prescription requests etc.

Co-ordinating appointments for specialist referrals, x-rays lab testing, etc. and conveying pertinent instructions and information to the patient.

Completing and co-ordinating consent forms and day sheets.

Performing other related duties within the clinic as may be assigned. Activities : Loads x-ray film cassettes.

Takes radiographs.

Develops, fixes, washes, dries, and files x-ray film.

Prepares solutions.

Requisitions supplies and materials.

Keeps records of x-ray film, unit activities, and related records. Assists in the care and maintenance of x-ray equipment.

Assists in scheduling and arranging for x-ray clinics.
