Budget Analyst

Assists departments in planning, forecasting and developing standards which will translated to a balanced budget.

Determines if planned fiscal objectives are being achieved by the departments.

Maintains and reconciles a variety of ledgers and accounts, prepares amendments, examines entries to verify accuracy and corrects records as necessary.

Monitors department budgets, assists in the establishment of budgetary controls, maintains budget controls, and checks certification of new employees against budgetary limits.

Obtain, compile and submit bids for investments from various banks and forward to the County Accountant.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A master’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.

or

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Accounting, Business Administration Finance or a related field and three (3) years of experience in fiscal and budget analysis.

This is a non-exempt position.
