This is an unpaid fellowship through the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program. The fellow selected for this role will not receive compensation or benefits from GDIT and will not be an employee, agent or contractor of GDIT but rather will remain an employee of the DoD and will receive compensation and benefits through the DoD.

Job Description:

Apply your expertise to advance the mission and optimize our business strategy as a Activity Security Representative Fellow at GDIT. Here, you’ll support solving some of our clients’ biggest challenges and help us grow the business.

The Activity Security Representative’s primary function is to provide multi-disciplined security support to a customer’s facility and organization. The position will provide “day-to-day” support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities.

HOW AN ACTIVITY SECURITY REPRESENTATIVE WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Performs administrative tasks in support collection, organization, and/or tracking of information in support of the security programs

Assists employees with obtaining ID badges and processing visit requests

Assists employees in acquiring security clearance when required via secured database

Responsible for classified document control, coordinating the reproduction, storage, or destruction of classified documents

Administers security programs and other related security activities for an office or group to ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies and procedures

Provides guidance and instructions to all employees to ensure any event, circumstance, or act that could be considered a breach of security is reported immediately

Maintains the organizations physical safety and security systems, including surveillance systems, automated security systems, employee ID systems, or fire alarm/sprinkler systems

Enters security information into automated system and develops related reports as needed

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Experience:

1+ years related experience

Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) counts towards 3 years of experience

Special Program Security Certification (SPSC) counts towards 5 years of experience

Maximum equivalent experience for SPED Certifications is no more than 5 years

SAP experience desired

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent experience (4 years)

Clearance Required to Start: Secret

Location: Falls Church, VA (Hybrid)

US Citizenship Required

DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:

Has served at least 180 days on active duty

Can participate within the last 6 months of separation or retirement

Will receive an honorable discharge

Has taken any service TAP/TGPS

Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months

Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of the fellowship.
