Job Description

1. Purpose of the job:

The innovative and effective deployment of data and analytics is key to the success of companies today. AkzoNobel is no exception as we seek to embed the improved understanding of data across the company. Identifying and implementing opportunities to optimize the use of data within our Research & Development (R&D), Manufacturing, Integrated Supply Chain (ISC), Marketing and Sales, Finance, HR and Sourcing Functions have been services delivered from our MDM Global Organisation over the last few years. We need additional support in these areas with a strong focus on Innovate, Plan, Make and Deliver. For these reasons, GBS Master Data Services requires a Data Domain Expert to support our R&D and ISC functions.

2. Responsibilities:

Responsible for (or support) the activities done by the CoE for R&D and ISC in alignment with the MDM Roadmap.

Drives R&D and ISC standardized End to End Processes and Tools around MDM to Improve Quality of Delivery, Optimize Cost to Serve, Control & Compliance, and Enhancing Customer Experience.

Support the MDS CoE Team Lead to build an R&D and ISC MDM roadmap

Support the scope and activities of projects and processes and ensures execution

Responsible for(or support) implementing proper preventive/detective controls for the CRUD activities of MDS Operations for R&D and ISC

Manage escalation process of R&D and ISC issues or support the resolution of issues raised by business to the CoE

Act as a change agent and communicator for MDS, enabling continuous commitment for and awareness of MDM

IM touchpoint, driving R&D And ISC master data standardization, organizational and system alignment

Continued focus on innovation and standardization to drive down total cost-to-serve and enhance customer satisfaction through improved quality of processes in R&D and ISC domains

Foster communication and teamwork within, and across, or ganizational boundaries

Ability to analyze, design and implement the need for MDM in high complexity landscapes, both from system perspective and organizational perspective for the R&D and ISC domains

Ability to utilize metrics to identify opportunities for service improvement

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Customer service mindset with excellent customer service skills

Ability to build working relationships and foster communication with internal customers within, and across, organizational and geographic boundaries

Capable of managing multiple complex assignments including the ability to plan, assign and direct work

Capable of managing assignments in a dynamic environment with ever-changing priorities

Capable of coaching teams, possibly located remotely

Ability to understand change management and drive to resolution with experience in large company in a complex and international environment

International mindset and intercultural skills

3. Job Requirements:

Post-Graduation in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, IT or equivalent work experience

Minimum 3-5 years' overall experience with 2-3 years' experience in MDM-related function, supporting R&D and ISC

SAP experience required, preferably with product domain knowledge

Knowledge on master data, transactional data and an understanding of SAP manufacturing data objects i.e. Material Master, Bill of Materials, Production Version, Routing etc.

Experience in Product Vision & OMP tooling, or similar, a plus

Experience in data quality, data governance and data cleansing is preferred

Ability to deliver quality work within strict deadlines while managing multiple priorities and acting with a sense of urgency

Very good communication skills must be able to discuss the requirements effectively with stakeholders, the external teams, and with internal teams

Continuous Improvement focused, relevant CI certification a bonus

Experience in Project Management, with supporting certification preferred

Experience in Alteryx, PowerBI and/or dashboarding skills are preferred

Advanced interpersonal and cultural skills including fluent English, with any other important language(s) an advantage.

Experience in complex IT system environments as key user

Experience in complex business environments with multiple stakeholders, including service providers for both IT as organizational/process capabilities

Leverages business understanding and its requirements to run MDM operations with the right level of controls in place

Keeps deadlines and produces high quality output

Fosters a constructive dialogue with support functions and key stakeholders

Strong communicator
