Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to join us as a Sex Education Workshop Facilitator. The primary responsibility of the candidate will be to conduct engaging and age-appropriate sex education workshops for classes 6 to 12 at various school premises across Kolkata.

Flexibility:

Can be done Part Time as well.

Our candidate should have:

An understanding of sexual health, including the biological aspects of menstruation, puberty, body anatomy, hygiene practices, contraception, POSCO, sexual rights, consent, STDs and more.

Experience in teaching or facilitating workshops, especially in a school or educational setting.

The ability to communicate complex information in a clear, age-appropriate, and sensitive manner.

Demonstrated ability to approach the subject matter with empathy and cultural sensitivity.

Understanding of diverse perspectives and backgrounds to create an inclusive learning environment.

Flexibility to adapt teaching methods based on the needs and maturity levels of the students.

Approachable demeanor to create a safe space where students feel comfortable discussing sensitive topics.

Willingness to address any stigma or misconceptions surrounding sexual health.

The ability to maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment.

Ability to provide inclusive and comprehensive information that considers the experiences of all genders and backgrounds and acknowledgment of diverse menstrual experience.

Willingness to address a variety of questions and concerns with openness and respect.

Skill in communicating with parents about the curriculum and addressing any concerns they may have.

Skill in handling challenging or sensitive situations that may arise during class.

Position Open:

Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE) - Workshop Facilitator

Responsibilities

1. Conduct interactive & engaging workshops on Sex Education at school premises, for classes 6 to 12.

2. Tailor workshop content and materials to meet the specific needs and age groups of students

3. Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages active participation and collaboration among students.

4. Providing support and guidance to students with questions or concerns related to sexual health - Address questions and concerns effectively, ensuring a positive and enriching workshop experience.

5. Communicate effectively with school staff, including principals and teachers, to align workshop content with school goals

6. Collect feedback from students and school staff after each workshop session and use those feedback to continuously improve workshop content and delivery methods.

7. Follow Ioza's guidelines, policies, and standards in conducting workshops.

Qualifications

1. Candidate must be located and available in Kolkata to conduct various workshops in school premises and must be willing to travel for the same.

2. Candidate must be flexible in teaching in the mother tongue as the medium of instruction i.e. fluent in spoken English, Bengali & Hindi.

3. Candidate with Bachelor's Degree in Education or prior knowledge in the subject matter (i.e. Sex/Adult Education) or related (i.e. health, biology etc.) with prior experience in teaching the same to kids and children, will be preferred.

4. Candidate(s) with previous experience in teaching in online classes/ similar workshops etc. will be preferred.

5. Empathetic and non-judgmental attitude towards sensitive topics.

Contract Based - Per Workshops Conducted

Working Days:

Monday to Friday (School Days)

Working Timings:

Workshops are to be held in school premises in between school hours. The duration of workshops will be a maximum of: 45 mins to 1 hours. However the candidate needs to be present in person to conduct various preliminary and post workshop checkoffs as per the guidelines of Ioza.

Caution:

We conduct a thorough background checks (included but not limited to: Criminal background, Employee History, Educational Background, Social Media Screening, Professional Conduct and Sex Offender Registry) and screenings to ensure the safety of the children. Any warning sign will result in swift termination of the application.
